Nenokkadine - Crushed Between Truth And False

Disclaimer : This is my first movie review of 2014 and hope many more to come .. 

 

 

Story 

  This movie is a illusion of delusion of a rock star Gautham,yep you heard it right,

Gautham who has a backdrop which has a backdrop of under current story ,this film has all plots leading to mahesh babu which in fact every scene comes up with a challenge to audience to connect with the story

 

  This  under current story of a man who is suffering from  "Schizophrenia" at the beginning .

A similar movie came in telugu long time back by the name "Naa Oopiri".

similarities :

1.Naa Oopiri 

2.Mahesh babu action reminds of  his businessman movie .

3.Kriti Sanon and mahesh babu sequence reminds me of  venkatesh and ramya krishna starer "dharma chakram "

4.recently released chandra sekhar yeleti's movie "Sahasam"

I never understood why in recent times ,there was no instance where i could remember one scene in a movie and felt this scene made me to think but nenokkadine gave me a chance to think all the while

But more precisely ...why would a director make a film that plays with minds of people ....if you ask me about this film after i came home ,i am clueless on what i saw and what i have grasped from the film apart from watching a 3 hr long film to actually know that  the 3hr long movie was a illusion to keep alive the delusion

Actors : Mahesh babu is good in parts in this movie,his action sequences does pull his fans to movie theaters.New heroine "Kriti Sanon" did well in the film but as i said the illusion made her dilute in her role .coming to rest of the characters,posani krishna murali  was as usual at his best .must say sukumar might be one of the few directors who tried out a movie without comedy but end of the day .people laughed on where the movie is taking them ...with all due resepct sukmar garu .

Technical department : the cinematographer did a splendid job ,he is the hero of the film for me but somehow i could not connect with audio of devi sri prasad but the bgm has been a great asset to the film 

About the director : Sukumar : He is  one of the hopes of change in tollywood .with nenokkadine ,he told the world that Tollywood has a potential to make a hollywood film but he got to understand that telugu audience need to be prepared for films like this ...

finally the movie has been a fight between illusion and reality where reality went into illusion and brought back zandu balm :)

Gautham Menon  ,one of the most popular directors in  south india who always intrages the audience with his movies that make his movies worth. He made ye maaya chasave in telugu and tamil ...which even today i could not understand .....coming back to today ,it was his magic sword "love" that brought him to do this movie yeto vellipoindhe manasu ....and add to that it was illayaraja music .......well the expectations rise so high ....well let us see how the movie experience went.

Without making any long boring statement ,let me jump straight into the story  ....a middle class boy and a rich girl who live in the same apartments who go through different phases of love as the time moves on ....

When movie starts ,the college set up and lot more and it all began with  krishnudu introduction song ....well the song   goes on the lines of kalasala lo in kotha bangaru lokam ...and then hero and heroine meets and from there the movie goes into the flash back .....and comes to present .......then goes future and then comes to present .......it all happens in the sequence of  8-14-20--24 .....they are 4 break ups and 5 patch ups ....... all silly fights in love ,egos and so on the saga of 90's love stories which are never ending sagas ...

The sad part of the film is the film ran like a daily serial where there is more scope for expression than dialogues .....sorry menon sir ,i am a huge fan of you but this time you went to hit the dead end ...surprisingly many people who came to watch the film went in the middle just coz they could not hear what the actors are saying and they can only see the sequence of break ups and patch ups ....

 End of the first half ....i could only remember one thing that the movie just had its first flash back 

break....and when every the hero and heroine meets,there was a a break up on the cards ....

Gutam sir ......how could you use illayraja songs in parts ......each song is a river ,it has to flow ..if you built a dam ,the flavor and the music dries up .....that is what happened .....when you work with a god ....you got to learn  that people have high expectations on each song that god has given us but sorry to say i could not hear a full song through out the film ...

I thought the director did not know the story after the first half .....he went into the zone where he has to follow the flow that left me wondering is love is all about i break your heart ,you break my heart and more to add fuel ......silly fights that starting from waiting , it was more of like it was dragged in 2nd half to the extent where there were few places i felt like more than the words ,silence has the more content in the movie .......

1.krishnudu : many reviewers said that it was waste to keep krishnudu ,,,,,,when i was leaving theater  ..people are talking about krishnudu more than the hero and heroine .

2.ye maaya chasavo movie spoof on krishnadu

 3.after reading 476 emails from nani by samantha must be the world record ......what achievement ......and i liked the way she reacts ......"oka book la undhi "  in a sarcastic way

Few minus of the film :

Weak story ,routine story that i must admit ,seen Sakhi. ,orange ,etc movies scenes just add to that  ....music was super but there was no justification of the music on the screen.Many said that climax was highlight ......i must admit that nani is one of the best talent in tollywood ....but when it came to this film ,the climax as told by many ........well its all confusion ,the same thing that happened in band baaja baarat ......i know menon sir does not pick up the scenes...  

Acting by nani and samantha was natural .....krishnudu was good and the samantha friend was funny 

When it comes to the  technical depts ......

Director : i have seen all G.Menon movies off late ......may be one of his few films that i could not connect .....

Music : what can i say about god ......illayaraja .....his music is divine and he rocks but i could not see what he created on the silver screen .......which was very sad to see 

anyways .....moral of  yeto vellipoindhe manasu is 

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop.

 coming to the movie ................

Story : The producer and director have announced once the movie starts that it is a movie tries to draw conclusion in conflict between love and friendship (a boy and girl cannot be friends for a life time)........... ..........really and through out the film they have given a question that love and friendship cannot co exist until the climax comes and makes it a happy ending by saying .......Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge(నన్ను మీ గ్రూప లో జాయిన్ చేసుకుంటరా )........

 

Let us come to story : Opening scene takes us to the childhood days where we are innocents and we make friendship and that last long .............ఈది కట్ చేస్తా

Aspiring musician siddu,his  father  who wants his son to be a engineer and in a routine movie scenario ....  boy goes for music in mumbai making his father disappointed ........how with his friend .......he could made his dream come true  (ఇక్కడ  వాసు,బొమ్మరిల్లు  మూవీ ని బాగా వాడుకున్నారు  )...

 

 Meanwhile a surprise package was hansika who is so confused to take decisions comes into movie at early stage (పాప చాలా బాగా చేసింది ) ...... .... ..............routine love story la then siddu fell in for hansi papa and akkada mogindhe guitar tabs.. ....papa ki preti matter lo confusion .then forgots  and how he comes to know  that shurti is also a part of his life(ekkada happy days lo rajesh gadi story ni baga use chasadu)........

Meanwhile shurti is in love with navdeep .......adi a hero ......ekkada baga social network ni use chasaru .......navdeep shurti ni  facebook lo kalisadu ..............ఈది కట్ చేస్తా

 

Interval: shurti chennai velthundhi ani telusukunna siddu .....bike medha velthadu bus station ki ......akkada iddaru mataladukuntaru .......confusion clear chasukoni ......prema kanna friendship goppadhi ani chapadanaki try chastharu ..........ekkada navdeep enter avuthadu .......  

Koncham strong  coffee tesukondi ......inka twists unnai ....

 

 

Interval nunchi vacham ........... ఈది కట్ చేస్తా

Shurti and navdeep engagement .....routinee .ekkada navdeep shurti ni possive ga chusthadu ....edhi common ........aitheee musti oka iphone kosam shurti tesukora .....antee vaddu me vadu feel avathadu ani siddu anadam ....koncham over ga unna ....feel good film kada ani lite tesukunna .....

 

First lo shurti takes siddu to a audition where a group gets into fight with siddu.and manadu asalu ammailu matter lo chala possive kada ......okati pekuthadu ...anthee cut chasthee ....siddu ki oka lead guitar band offer vasthunndhi to participate in kerala .......same band with whom siddu fought for shurti ........papa tega tension paduthundhi ........tapadhu ..friend career ........then they ask their respective partners ......navdeep and hansika ......then both rejects at begining and then again accepts to come in support for siddu....ekkada enter avuthadu ali .......unna 15min lo manchi comedy chasadu .....

Aithee mana siddu ki oka guitar antee chala istam........adi mana vadiki shurti vala future husband ainaa navdeep tho koni siddu ki gift isthundhi .......ekkada hanskia ni close up lo chupinchi .......ammailu kuda jealousy untindhe ani chaparu .......tappudu love kada ......

 

Navdeep ki chala uneasy ga undhi .......siddu ni shurti mari over care tesukuntindhe ani .. akkada hansika papa kuda anthee ....

navdeep asks siddu to leave shurti for a 24hr break(like allu arjun asks in arya 2)... 

Meanwhile siddu father tenakalli bharani is missing (just watch the movie for this episode)....adi national roaming tho shurti vala amma phone chasii chapathundhi ........shurti and siddu exicite ayiee ......madhayalo mana navdeep ki ekkado kali .....shurti ni kodathadu ,sorry padiasthadu ........

Cut chastheee ......movie lo twist ekkada vasthundhi 

Navdeep asks shurti to leave siddu and come with me to settle in US .......same with hansika baby .......voice lekapoyina papa keka la act chasindhe (mass words vasthai ......sorry )

.........

Both shurti and siddu gets shocked by their partners views ..they come back and present the case before tenakalla bharani ......meanwhile .shurti mom is interested in siddu more than navdeep.

Tenakall bharani says very clearly that 
They are acting like lovers more than friends ......then usual siddu bommarillu emotions coming out and says we are just friends ...........and then takes a strong step that takes us to the climax of the movie ..........ekkada ymc tamil movie ni inspiration tesukunaru which is a brave move kani naku ardham kaledu malli enduku...........

Performances : 

Siddhartha:

 Siddu was at his usual student type and confused boy ....the good part is he is better than ranbir kapoor with guitar ............bad part is after making many films ,he remains as confused.

 

Shurti hassan: peru lo amindhe goppathanam ......manashi lo undali gani .........she was confused .bit over acting......uses telagana slang(preti scene lo siddu ni champutha bidda ani andhi )....confuse enduku annanu antee ......ammai clear ga act chasindhe kani story lo confusion undhi ani teliyakunda act chasindhe ..........

Other actors:tenakalla bharani at his usual best.......ali was good in his glimpse .......

Music :it was good ,refreshing thought bgm was at its digital age ..........songs were good .....

 

Technical dept :good photography ........and art dept was also easy going .....

 

Director .........i dont want to make any comments but want to say that when we make a movie .......we need to understand that by questioning ,confusing and finally giving a twist does not work in telugu .............feel good movie kada ani first 2days chustharu kani ......feel good taruvatha feel bad ani vasthundhi..........story lacks clarity ........lot of questions ,the movie is predictable at times .....climax wanted to make it like ymc.....

finally my friend who came with me asked ......on a rate of 5 .how much would you give ani ........i told i cant coz i need to come out of the very confusion of movie  ...........

 

few questions ..

1.The intervel scene .........where 5mins before shurti tells sid that she will dare to lose love for friendship,the very next min ,she goes to her love........well the director explains 

2.On other occasion .........why cant 2 friends be the best husband and wife ......

 andukaa athria annaru ...........manasu chala vichtraminadhi ....
